Terms and Conditions – Mergers & Acquisitions Case Competition 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Mergers & Acquisitions Case Competition (“the Competition”) organised by Prepped Talent Pty Ltd (“the Organiser”). By registering or participating in the Competition, all participants agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

1. Organiser

The Competition is conducted by Prepped Talent Pty Ltd, an Australian company, headquartered in New South Wales.

2. Competition Dates

Registrations close: 5:00pm AEST, 8 August 2025

Round One submissions due: 5:00pm AEST, 18 August 2025

Round Two runs: 25 August to 1 September 2025

Finalists notified: 3 September 2025

Finals: 11 September 2025

Public sharing of submissions permitted by Participants from: 12 September 2025

3. Eligibility

Open to working professionals with up to five (5) years of experience.

Participants must not be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree.

There are two entry categories:

M&A Professional Entry: Participants must have experience in Lead Advisory, Financial Due Diligence, or Valuations & Modelling.

Aspiring M&A Entry: No prior deal experience required.

Participants must form teams of two. They may self-select or be assigned a teammate. Team changes are not permitted after registration.

Employees of partner firms are eligible to compete.

4. Registration

Registration is free.

Participants must register by 5:00pm AEST on 8 August 2025.

Required information includes: name, email address, current employment details, and team preference.

5. Submission Requirements

Deliverables: a pitch deck and accompanying files (e.g. financial model).

Accepted file types: PDF, PowerPoint, Excel.

Submission deadlines are fixed at 5:00pm AEST on the specified dates.

Submissions are final and cannot be revised once submitted.

6. Judging Process

Rounds One & Two will be judged by Prepped Talent.

Final Round will be judged by a panel of M&A Partner Firms.

Judging is final and cannot be appealed.

Judging criteria will be released separately before the commencement of each round.

No NDA will be signed by judges; do not include confidential information in your submissions.

7. Prizes and Recognition

No monetary prizes will be awarded.

Finalists will present their case to a live panel of M&A firms.

There is no guarantee of job placements or interviews.

Only finalists will receive formal recognition.

Finalists will be announced via email by 3 September 2025.

8. Code of Conduct

All work must be original. Plagiarism or receiving external assistance is strictly prohibited.

Use of AI tools must be fully disclosed.

Participants must maintain professional conduct throughout the competition.

Submissions must not be publicly disclosed before 12 September 2025.

9. Intellectual Property

All submissions become the sole property of Prepped Talent Pty Ltd.

Submissions may be used for marketing or recruitment purposes.

Participants will be credited if their work is used in public channels.

10. Data & Privacy

The Organiser collects data on participants' employment, email, and submitted work.

Aggregated data may be used for marketing the event and shared with Partner Firms.

By registering, participants consent to receive promotional emails relating to this and future competitions or events.

11. Liability & Disclaimers

Prepped Talent is not responsible for technical failures, submission issues, or data loss.

The Competition may be modified, postponed, or cancelled at the Organiser’s sole discretion.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes must be submitted by email and will be resolved at the discretion of Prepped Talent.

13. Publicity & Media Release

Finalists and judges may be featured on the Organiser’s website, social media, or promotional materials.

By entering the Competition, participants grant the Organiser permission to use their name, image, and submissions in such materials.

Prepped Talent reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team that violates these terms or is deemed to have acted inappropriately.

14. Severability and Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales and the laws of Australia, as applicable. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
